Our standard round 5mm LEDs have a viewing angle of 20-30 degrees. Straw hat LEDs have a much wider 90 degree viewing angle.

Our standard 5mm LEDs are great for driving fiber optics and projects where a more focused beam of light works better such as headlights, search lights, beacons, and lamp posts, but a wider viewing angle makes straw hat LEDs more suitable for projects where a wider viewing angle would be desireable, such as runways, landing pads, and other models where a wider view is needed.

All straw hat LEDs come in packs of 10 LEDs and 10 1/4w 120 ohm resistors.
